The common house gecko (Hemidactylus frenatus) is a gecko native to South and Southeast Asia. It is also known as Chipkali in India.

Brumation is similar to hibernation. It's just that in hibernation, animals go in deep sleep whereas in brumation, animals keep themselves hidden in burrows or holes but they occasionally come out to eat, drink and defecate.

When it's extremely cold, lizards face the danger of either their blood freezing up as they are cold blooded animal so their temperature drops drastically, as a result of which they become immobile and can easily fall prey to enemies.

So, During winters Lzards brumate. If you observe carefully, lizards can be found in small crevices in walls or rocks, the little space just about bulb sockets and sometimes inside burrows in the ground.
